Aside from the acai berry being an unsullied, mouth-watering, organically grown fruit- it is also rich with antioxidants. Antioxidants are nutrients as well as substances that slow the oxidation damage to our body.

When the body’s cells consume oxygen, it creates free radicals (or by-products) that can cause a lot of problems to our body. Antioxidants play an important role in preventing, repairing, and removing the damage done by these toxic by-products. Having a daily supplement of antioxidants is the best way known to protect yourself from these harmful free radicals.

When free radicals are left unchecked, they can wreak all kinds of havoc to our bodies. Free radicals are responsible for the breakdown of our DNA as well as causing cancer. These by-products can invade our cells and cause them to break down or even worse stop functioning all together.

Depending on where the damage was created by these toxic radicals, the range of destruction can lead to neurological damage all the way to hormonal problems. The acai berry produces enough antioxidants that when taken as a regular part of your diet can prevent and fight off these free radicals.

Studies have revealed for years that when antioxidants are taken as part of a regular diet, the body has the ability to repair, and maintain resistance to free radicals as well future attacks.

The acai berry was recently introduced to the mainstream audience by a Doctor by the name of Nicholas Perricone who wrote a book entitled the Perricone Promise. In this book he goes into detail about how the acai berry is what he calls the most perfect food on the planet known today.

When it comes to a food that will make you look and feel young, Dr. Perricone says that the acai berry has all of the ingredients needed to accomplish this. Also, when looking for a diet that will revitalize your health and slow the aging process Dr. Perricone says look no further than the acai fruit berry.

The acai fruit is known as a super food that contains every nutrient your body needs in fighting harmful free radicals. If your goal is to improve your overall health, as well as strengthen and maintain your body, then you should look further into the numerous benefits of the this amazing fruit.

The acai berry is the perfect food to improve overall health, reduce aging, and fighting free radicals and could be just the missing supplement your body needs to creating the new you.

A group of scientist in Arkansas found that fruits that are dark purplish in color such as the acai berry fruit, could possibly hold the key to preventing obesity.

Their animal study however, reports that eating the whole fruit containing these pigments seems to be less effective than eating an extract of the berry.

Ronald L. Prior and colleagues, who conducted the study, found that past research has shown that the pigments, called anthocyanins, prevent obesity in laboratory mice fed a high-fat diet.

The mice also were reported to show other healthy benefits from the fruit. Anthocyanins are found in acai berries blackberries, purple corn, and many other purple based foods.

The study reports that researchers discovered mice that are fed a high-fat diet for 8 weeks, drinking water, and taking purified anthocyanins from blueberries and the acai berry gained less weight and had lower body fat levels than a control group.

The study found that anthocyanins extract proved to be the only way the effects of weight prevention could be met. When the mice were fed the whole berry, they tended to gain weight.

The article “Whole Berries versus Berry Anthocyanins: Interactions with Dietary Fat Levels in the C57BL/6J Mouse Model of Obesity” can be read in full in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.

Colorful pigments found in the skin of blueberries, strawberries and other fruits and vegetables may help prevent obesity, according to recent animal studies from the USDA Agricultural Research Service.

What Everybody Ought To Know About Anti Wrinkle Treatment

Anti wrinkle treatment is something that we would all like to undergo. This is because we live in a society that worships youth and everyone strives to look young for the longest time possible. The eradication of the signs of aging such as wrinkles is now possible with the advances achieved by science. Let’s explore some of the ways that can help hold off wrinkles.

Tightening and smoothing the skin through laser resurfacing is one of the ways to reduce wrinkles. This anti wrinkle treatment involves using laser to restructure the skin. CO2 laser was used in the first complete resurfacing. Nowadays, the method of choice is the fractional laser method. In this method, laser delivered in tiny pinpoints to only a fraction of the area to be treated leaves healthy tissue in between ablated areas for faster healing and reduced risk.

Dermabrasion is primarily used in the removal of scars but it can also be an anti wrinkle treatment. In this procedure, abrasion removes the outer surface of the skin. The skin then regenerates and the new surface will be smoother and younger-looking. Dermabrasion is extremely painful and requires anesthetization. It can also take the skin several months after dermabrasion to heal and regenerate.

Retinoids (such as vitamin A derivatives retinol and tretinoin) are used in treating keratosis pilaris and acne vulgaris and encourage the renewal of skin cells as well as increase the collagen production of the skin. The actions of retinoids are beneficial in anti wrinkle treatment because increased collagen production and cell renewal result in a more youthful-looking skin. Certain precautions are needed when undergoing retinoid treatment, such as avoiding exposure to the sun and not using waxing to remove hair, because of its tendency to increase skin susceptibility to sun burn and induce thinning of the skin.

Chemical peels, another kind of anti wrinkle treatment, use alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), beta hydroxy acids (BHA), salicylic acid, lactic acid, trichloroacetic acid, and phenol singly or in suitable combinations to make skin blister and peel off. After some time the skin will heal and regenerate. The regenerated skin surface will be smoother and look younger than the old surface.

The most common surgical procedures employed to get rid of wrinkles are facial implants and rhytidectomy. Facial implants involve depositing an artificial substance or fat taken from another part of the body under wrinkled skin. This plumps up the skin so that wrinkles become less prominent. Rhytidectomy, which means face lift in lay language, involves the removal of excess facial skin and re-draping of the remaining skin over the face and neck.

Collagen and hyaluronic acid (commercially available under the trade name Restylane) are cosmetic subdermal fillers that can be injected to fill out the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. These are derived from substances that are naturally produced in the body and thus have little or no adverse effects. Botox (botulinum toxin type A), which inhibits motion in the muscles that cause wrinkles, is another injectable cosmetic anti wrinkle treatment.

These are just some of the ways to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. More are being discovered and implemented, with varying degrees of effectiveness and success. In this day and age, one no longer has to live with wrinkles.

Can Resveratrol cure cancer?

Because of the hype created by findings which suggested that Resveratrol have some properties which slows down the spread of cancerous cells, the question “can Resveratrol cure cancer” remains unanswered. Here we’ll like to see if there is any possibility of Resveratrol being a cure for cancer.

Natural antioxidants found in red grapes and red wine help destroy pancreatic cancer cells. When pancreatic cancer cells were doubly assaulted with Resveratrol and a few other compounds it induced a type of cell death called apoptosis. This was something which is required for curing cancer cells therefore in future the same combination of drugs can be used to cure cancer.

Studies have shown that Resveratrol destroys the nexus of malignant cells and protects the healthy tissues from harmful effects of radiation during chemotherapy. Purified versions of Resveratrol have been described as anti cancer, anti inflammation. Though I must say that no combination of drugs has been successful in curing cancer cells permanently therefore we cannot say that Resveratrol is a cure for cancer. Not yet, at least.

The reason for thinking of Resveratrol as a cure for cancer is simple. As this wonder compound is highly beneficial for diseases like high cholestrol, diabetes and even Alzheimer’s, it becomes quite natural for a non medical person to think of it as a cancer cure.  People associated with medical profession are positive but not very sure if it can be possible in near future.

As possibility cannot be denied, more and more research work is going on in the US and other parts of the world so that this deadly disease can be conquered. As and when it is proved that Resveratrol can cure cancer, its demand will increase many folds opening another opportunity for the medical products manufactures to produce it at competitive rates.

Botox Side Effects - Know The Risks

All medicines carry side effects. In addition to the desired therapeutic outcome, medications could engender adverse effects in individuals taking them. Botox, the popular treatment for facial lines and wrinkles, being also a medicine, has side effects that could affect those who take it. The good news is that majority of those who undergo Botox treatment do not manifest any side effects.

Botox side effects were identified in extensive and thorough clinical studies and trials conducted by qualified medical research teams. In these trials and studies, the effects produced by Botox in a group of individuals were analyzed and weighed against data gathered from control groups. The results of these analyses established exactly what adverse effects could be brought about by undergoing Botox treatments.

Studies conducted on the use of Botox for cosmetic treatments such as in the reduction of facial lines and wrinkles have established that Botox could cause high blood pressure, dental problems, droopy eyelids, nausea, indigestion, heartburn, muscle weakness and facial pain. These Botox side effects were experienced singly or in combinations by about 1 to 3 percent of those undergoing Botox treatments.
Studies also show that in about 11 to 21 percent of patients being treated with Botox for certain medical conditions such as hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), cervical dystonia, blepharospasm (eyelid spasms), and strabismus (crossed eyes), the commonly observed Botox side effects include misalignment or vertical deviations of the eyes, difficulty in swallowing, upper respiratory infections, neck pain, droopy eyelids, and headache.

Drowsiness, weakness, dizziness, bleeding at the injection site, infection, soreness at the injection site, sore throat, dry mouth, cough, runny or stuffy nose, anxiety, back pain, and flu-like symptoms such as chills and fever are other common Botox side effects. About 2 to 10 percent of people undergoing Botox treatments experience these side effects, regardless of the purpose of the Botox therapy.

If you experience chest pain, double vision, speech problems, dry eyes (if being treated for muscle spasms near the eyes), and allergic reactions (such as difficulty in breathing or swallowing, unexplained rashes, itching, hives, unexplained swelling, and wheezing) while undergoing Botox treatments, these should be reported to your doctor at once. This is because such Botox side effects are potentially serious.

If you experience any of the Botox side effects mentioned above, the best course of action is to let your doctor know at the soonest possible time. There are cases in which it would be difficult to tell the exact cause of a symptom that you are manifesting; it may or may not be caused by Botox treatments. But whatever the cause is, your doctor will know what to do.

In the course of your Botox treatments, just remember that medications can be double-edged swords. The benefits almost always outweigh the disadvantages. The main thing is to recognize Botox side effects and know what to do in case you experience them.

Resveratrol Benefits: Are the Studies Right?

Resveratrol Benefits

We've been down this road before, haven't we? Isn't it true that whenever we see a new supplement hit the market, were usually told that this is the one that's going to make all the difference.

If you're like me, you've probably gotten excited in the past and have rushed out to buy expensive supplements, powders, pills, capsules, tinctures, teas, or some other concoction that promised to rejuvenate your mind and body.

And I'll bet that a lot of them have probably worked for you. I know that a fair number of supplements I take on a daily basis definitely help improve my life -- and probably even extend it. But for every one that does work, there's another that doesn't do a darn thing.

Does this sound familiar? So when the news first broke about resveratrol and it’s supposed fountain-of-youth qualities, I naturally got excited and wanted to rush out and buy resveratrol, but I also tried deliberately to tone down my enthusiasm. This is probably just a side effect of having been burned before.

Don't forget that there is a difference between resveratrol and a host of other solutions that we've heard about before. All you have to do is look at the studies and you can see that the hype may be justified.

In fact, the research is so promising, and apparently so convincing, that even major U.S. drug firms are now trying to get in on this.

So can we trust what we're hearing about resveratrol? Of course I'm not a doctor, but I definitely think it is.

Of course, as you might expect, there's a caveat to all of this. What we're now seeing with resveratrol is that you're finding some mislabeled and bogus products on the market, thanks to suppliers and manufacturers who care more about making a quick buck than they do about supplying a quality product.

I think this means that you need to be cautious and really evaluate who you are getting your resveratrol from. I’m show you what I think is the very best way to find the highest quality resveratrol around at this Buy Resveratrol Supplements review page. Click on that link and you'll see what I'm talking about.

(Oh, and I'll also tell you how to get a full supply of resveratrol for free. You're going to love this one, so definitely take a look at that link!)

First, just in case you weren’t aware, I wanted to go through some of the resveratrol benefits so that you can see what has everyone so excited.

Resveratrol can be as much as 50 times more powerful an antioxidant than even Vitamin C?

But that's only the beginning. And once they tested the stuff in the lab, they found out that they could make subjects seem to almost reverse in age, and had them performing better on tests to measure both mental and physical ability. But incredibly enough, it doesn't even start to get into the whole story.

And this is probably the major reason why people are so excited. Now, remember that were talking about a substance that occurs naturally, and that apparently stops the aging process.

Now just remember that we haven't been studying resveratrol for decades. I guess it could just be me, but there's no way I want to wait until I start getting old and sick before I take steps to try and avoid it.

I would rather start slowing down the aging process today. So I am hoping that 20 years from now I will be able to look back and say that I made a pretty smart decision.

What is the Best Way to Reduce Face Wrinkles?

It may not seem like it, but the best way to reduce face wrinkles is in fact with an anti wrinkle cream. Yes, there are other ways to get rid of wrinkles, such as botox or a face lift but who really has the patience or cash to opt for such a ridiculous and unneeded treatment. Having said that, there is only one reliable and cost effective option to reduce face wrinkles anti wrinkle skin cream.

What type of anti wrinkle cream should I use?

This is an important question, as not all wrinkle creams are created equal. Some creams are made specifically for people with oily skin, while others are designed for people with dry skin. In addition to that, there are also creams made to support people with fair skin as well as creams for darker skinned individuals. With all of these creams and different factors to consider, how can anyone be sure of which anti wrinkle cream to use? Well, it’s simple really by knowing your skin type.

You don’t have to know the specifics of every wrinkle cream on the market you just have to know your skin type. By knowing your skin type, you’ll have a good idea of what to look for in an anti wrinkle skin cream. Rather than trying to guess, you’ll know precisely which elements are important and which ones aren’t so important.

How much should I pay for a wrinkle cream?

If you’re looking to reduce face wrinkles through the use of a wrinkle free cream, you won’t likely have to break the bank. It’s true that wrinkle cream can get expensive some cost $180 or more but most creams fall into the $29 to $89 range. And when you consider that one jar can last upwards of 1-2 months, you’re looking at significant savings when compared to cosmetic surgery; which must be done on a yearly or bi-yearly basis to maintain results.

Important Note: Don’t forsake an anti wrinkle skin cream just because it has a slightly higher price tag. If you put too much emphasis on cost, it may be awhile before you find that perfect wrinkle cream for you.
