Everybody thinks that their relationship will last forever, and some of them will last a lifetime. Unfortunately, many of them do not. Every single day a new relationship comes to an end, but only a few people even consider how they might be able to stop this tragedy from occurring in the first place. Here are 4 ways to Stop a Break up from happening in the first place.

Arguments

Learn to let go of your arguments. One of the worst things you can do when you are having an argument is to start to bring up past issues that both of you thought were settled. It is critical to know how to forgive your partner and to let go of any old grudges. If you are still upset about something, then talk about it together. You need to be considerate and sincere but don’t become livid. By discussing things together your relationship will stay strong and grow.

Time and Space

Give them the space and time they need. If you’ve had an argument about something it is very important to give your partner the time and space they may need to sort things out. Incessantly begging, demanding, or aggravating them about the relationship will only push them away. This may give them the feeling that you are nothing but selfish, and Nobody wants to be with somebody like that.

Communication

If you are not effectively communicating, you are setting the stage for problems in your relationship. Sooner or later, ignoring your communication problems will cause your relationship to collapse. Sustaining a strong line of communication will permit your relationship to function properly and keep it strong.

Professionals

You will understand how a break up can be prevented by taking advantage of the insight and knowledge of professionals in this field. If you are not able to solve your problems on your own, then this could be a good idea. They will help you realize any weaknesses you may have in your relationship and help you resolve them. This will help both of you learn how to make a relationship work. The only stumbling block with this approach is that they can be quite costly.

Every single relationship will have its ups and downs, but understanding how to stop a breakup before it can happen, is the key to maintaining a successful relationship. To learn more about relationship issues visit Save a Relationship

Before Making a Commitment to Your Sginificant Other, Make a Commitment to Yourself

A doctorate is the highest educational achievement that you can earn and there is much respect associated with having those letters behind your name. Only one out of a hundred people have a doctorate, so that reverence is certainly due. Also, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, someone with a doctorate degree earns one to two million dollars in lifetime earnings more than someone with a master’s degree. With numbers like that, what are you waiting for?

Ph.D. or Doctorate?

It seems that there is some confusion when it comes to the difference between a doctorate and a Ph.D., or Doctor of Philosophy. Actually, a Ph.D. is one of several doctorate degrees that you can earn. Doctorate degrees can be broken down into two types: professional doctorates and research doctorates.

People who earn professional doctorates apply their degree to a specific profession, as opposed to an academic field of study. These include M.D. (Doctor of Medicine), J.D. (Juris Doctor), DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine), and PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) among many others.

Research doctorates include the Ph.D. and are often focused on a particular subject. Here is a breakdown of some of the more popular doctorates available in the United States:

  • Ph.D. or Doctor of Philosophy: This degree is normally earned by those who want to go into research or Academia. There are many fields in which you can earn a Ph.D. including history, mathematics, and chemistry.

  • Psy.D. or Doctor of Psychology: If you want to be a psychologist, than you can either earn a Ph.D. in psychology or this degree.

  • DBA or Doctor of Business Administration: This degree is for people who are interested in the theory of management. Those who earn this degree normally go into research or teach on a college level.

  • Ed.D. or Doctor of Education: If you are looking to become a school administrator than this degree is for you.

  • D.A. or Doctorate of Arts: This degree emerged in the 1960s and is offered in many of the same subjects as a Ph.D, particularly arts and humanities. It is often labeled the “teaching doctorate.”

What does a doctorate entail?

Most doctorates require that you have a master’s degree in a related field of study. Once you are accepted you begin with a rigorous course of study, especially for the professional degrees such as M.D. or J.D. The professional degrees are normally followed by an exam, such as the bar examination, and/or an internship, such as a residency. With Ph.Ds and other research doctorates, courses are normally followed by an exam and then the writing of a thesis or dissertation. These dissertations can be anywhere from 50 to 450 pages in length and commonly focus on a particular area of expertise. For example, someone pursuing a doctorate in U.S. Economic History might write a dissertation on the effects of Soviet Union socialism on U.S. economic policies during the Great Depression. According to the U.S. Department of Education, the average time it takes a student to earn their doctorate is seven years. However, there are some accelerated programs out there and a lot depends on how long it takes you to write your dissertation.

Online Study is a Great Option

If you are interested in a doctorate degree, do not rule out online colleges. Three of the five most popular doctorate degrees (according to the Department of Education) are available through online study; these are Doctor of Psychology, Doctor of Engineering and Doctor of Education. College Online learning is an extremely convenient way to learn. The courses are offered in a format that works around your schedule. This is perfect for people who have a career that they do not want to take time off from, or if they have a family. In fact, online doctorates are so flexible that there really is no reason not to finally reach this highest level of achievement.  More information along with enrollment steps can be found at College Online Programs or College Online Study.

4 Great Relationship Expert Lessons

June 15, 2009 by Trilochan Bhattacharya

If you’ve read or listened to relationship & dating experts, you know that some of what they say is just common sense. They tell us things we already know, but they’re great at putting it into words and examples that make things easier to understand. The best relationships experts just know how to communicate.

They can take those common sense things and say them in a way that makes you “get it.” Like the concept of  what to expect and what to give in a relationship. This is one of the best lessons you can get from relationships experts.

Very often we go along in a relationship and as time goes on we start to take the other person for granted a little bit.

After the relationship hit a rocky period and ended and you’ve gotten back together, remember to be thoughtful and kind becomes very important. Relationships experts stress that as a good way to keep a relationship strong.

A second great lesson from the experts is to do what the other person will appreciate. This is another great common sense lesson that’s all too easy to overlook. It applies anytime during a relationship but after you’ve gotten back together from a break up or other bad patch it’s even more important.

To do what the other person wants doesn’t mean you should never consider yourself. But you should try to do what appeals to them to show them that you care. If it really makes you happy when your boyfriend helps you wash the dishes, then maybe if you helped him with some housework that would make him feel loved, too.

But there may be ways he likes to feel loved that are different. He might be the type of person who likes to hear you say it often, or likes romantic gestures. Even if those things aren’t as important to you, you need to do the things that are special to him.

Sometimes we forget that, or we just assume that everyone responds to the same things. But doing what makes the other person feel most special is easy to do.

And a lesson that the experts teach that often goes forgotten is respect. Of course, you respect your boyfriend or girlfriend, but does it always show?  This is part of taking them for granted but goes beyond not thanking them or returning loving gestures.

Often, we might be late for something and keep them waiting, or we might just accidentally be inconsiderate and not apologize enough. Take a lesson from the relationships experts and ask yourself if you treat your partner with the same respect you would treat parents or co-workers.

Take these ideas into consideration if your single and are about to start dating, as this could help build a better relationship from the beginning.

The wedding day will probably be one of the most important times that occur for a person’s life. Many hours goes into a lot of the planning for the wedding. All of the tasks that go into wedding planning can be time consuming, stressful and very frustrating at times. That is why it is so important to do some homework and find the right people for all of the jobs. One of the very big jobs will be that of the photographer. From my experience as a San Diego wedding photographer I’ll show you it can be a few simple steps away.

Finding any wedding photographer is a huge task. There are a few important factors to think about when you make this important decision. The photographs that you get from your wedding day will be some of the most memorable moments that you. The photos will be on your walls for the rest of yourlife. One of the most obvious factors when choosing any photographer is price. A lot of photographers will charge you a certain price for a specific lenght of time for the wedding. It is important to know what will be included with that price up front
price. When it comes to finding a wedding photographer, the biggest upside to pricing is there is a lot of competition. Keep in mind that many photographers are willing to negotiate their price a little to fit what you need.

Another thing to take into account when deciding is how much experience does this person have. Is this their firs big wedding job, or have they done a few dozen or more? Their price might be an indication of how many years they have been in business as well. Now just because someone may have a lot of experience doesn’t guarantee they will be better. Sometimes those people that are just starting out and trying to build a name for themselves will turn out to be excellent. The advantage of a person like that and going with them is you know they are going to give it their best. In your search for a wedding photographer, you are going to find different levels of experience between them. When you do an interview of prospective photographers, it will give you a sense of what it will be like when you work with them.

A final thing to think about when you prepare to make that decision is what kind of personality does the photographer have. Are they likely going to try call all the shots and decide on all your poses? Or are they going to let the bride and groom make some decisions? The other thing to think about is do you want to be the one to make the decisions on the photos. The bride and grooom will have enough worries the day of the wedding. Take all of these factors into consideration when you choose your photographer. If you do, no doubt you will have some beautiful photos to cherish for the rest of your lives.  Take it from me, your experienced San Diego photographer.

5 Great tips from a San Diego Photographer

When you are asked to be the one to take photos of the wedding is a huge responsibility. If you’ve been approached to do it as a friend, or maybe asked to do it as a professional, here are 5 great tips to do the job right.

This tips are coming from first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer.  So whether you are seasoned pro, or a rank amateur, if you follow these tips, you will feel comfortable and not have to second guess yourself.  You will be fully prepared for whatever may come.

Our first tip is pretty simple and that is to have the couple and their families make a list for you of shots they want to take. With a day that can be as hectic and chaotic as a wedding day, doing this will help when you are trying to organize all the group and family shots later on in the day.  You will love it and when you can just go down the list and get everything without leaving anything out by accident.

The second tip on our list is to not delete any shots.  In this day and age of digital cameras, most photographers use them.Even though they are great, it is also tempting since it is so easy, to delete a shot.Don’t bother even peeking at the previews. What you think may be a great photo, can differ widely in what the couple considers a great photo. You know what, they might like all those un “professional” shots you take.

The third tip to make sure you do is taking candid shots.  A good wedding photographer will not just try and get the typical shots, like family group shots, wedding party shots, or your standard bride and groom.  But they will also try and capture the emotions of the day through the shots of all the people that were there. It may include the things that go wrong also, like a flower girl making a wrong turn or the ring bearer not wanting to walk down the aisle.  Every shot counts.

The fourth tip is which is often overlooked is to make sure you have several cameras and other equipment as backup.  Do you even want to imagine having a camera stop working halfway through the day.Be prepared for anything that can go wrong.Being prepared with more equipment will ensure that you avoid that awkward moment of not being able to finish the rest of the day because of a broken camera.

Finally, you have to be prepared for the lighting and you do that by practicing. The difference between the lighting in the church and the outside reception can throw you a curve ball, so just practice for all different lighting situations. Think about seeing if you can go to the locations of the big day and look for the best spots to take pictures as well as study the lighting needs.

Taking these 5 tips into account will help you immensely.  It will prepare you for whatever might go wrong, it will prepare you for capturing what goes right, and it will prepare you to help contribute to this wonderful day by being the best photographer you can be.  Take it from my years of experience as a San Diego photographer.

Is a New Boyfriend the Answer?

April 22, 2009 by Trilochan Bhattacharya
Filed under Commitment

My boyfriend works for a UK contract hire company supplying cars, vans and trucks mainly to business customers. He really loves his work but he can’t stop talking about it and cars are about all he ever talks about.

Every night I have to listen to him enthusiastically extolling the virtues of the latest hot deal available from his showroom. He is a complete petrol-head (I think the Americans call them gear heads) who avidly watches every motoring programme on television. At weekends he takes me to various motoring related events at Goodwood and elsewhere. Basically, if cars aren’t involved, sadly, neither are we.

For our vacation last year he decided that we would go to the United States. I was beside myself with excitement as I had never visited the United States before. But he had decided we would be attending the NASCAR Sprint Cup Races at the Daytona 500. So I spent all of my holiday in America breathing exhaust fumes, listening to petrol and gear heads talk incessantly about cars, engines, brake horse power and other incredibly boring topics. Not only that, all we had to eat for the duration of our stay was fast food so I managed to put on no less than 10 pounds in weight.

So the future of this particular relationship is now looking very uncertain. My chap is not such a bad fella. He can be a very caring and attentive man but, like many, he can become obsessive about things, especially cars. Currently the subject of his obsession is cars. I’ve been wondering what it would be like if we both shared the same interests, but I can’t see him developing a taste for shopping, womens clothes and make up any time soon.

I’m thinking that the time has come for an open and honest heart-to-heart to discuss the future, if there is any, for our relationship. I need to tell him that I am really not interested in going to every motoring event on the U.K. calendar. And I’m not really very happy to spend my holiday breathing in noxious fumes and listening to car talk. I want to enjoy a little wining and dining and when I’m on holiday I want to relax in the sunshine. Instead I’ve become an expert on the latest Audi Contract Hire deals and the performance figures of various BMWs.

If you happen to be a spotter in the area of dishonesty, then you have come to the right place. Many couples seem to pass through a relationship just fine but then there are other couples who seem to question their partners integrity. This is never easy to come to this stage, yet many couples must understand that questioning their partners integrity is something that is quite common.

Many wonder if their partner is being honest about one thing or another. Thanks to advanced studies in detecting dishonesty and the evaluations conducted by relationship experts, it is now possible to recognize the particular traits that many may display while being untruthful. Here, I will share some of the ways that you can go about spotting dishonesty.

1. Check the eyes to determine if your partner is being dishonest. Oftentimes many people will say that if the person you are talking to cannot make eye contact then that is a pretty good indicator that your partner is lying. This concept can be true. It is so because if a person intentionally holds eye contact with you, then this can be a sign of dishonesty.

2. Many people who attempt to lie or cover up something may begin to talk at a rapid rate. In addition to lying or even cover up something, the person may attempt to transition from one subject to another so that he/she so that your partner can try to get out of the subject he/she is trying to get out of or be dishonest about. It is very important that you pay particular attention to this certain kind of detail. On this particular dishonest, you should be seeking relationship self help on spotting dishonesty.

3. When working to detect dishonesty in your partner, it is important to check out their body language. It is common for someone who is being untrue to do things like cross their arms, hands, legs, or feet. It is also common to see physiological responses, such as the narrowing of the pupils, sweating, and blushing. Naturally, there are many different signs of lying through body language, but these are among the most common. Movements that are rapid in succession, twitching, changing positions, and even utilizing the hands to speak could be potential responses to untrue statements made during a conversation.

As you can tell from the information listed here, there are many relationship self help techniques to spotting dishonesty in your partner. If you ever come to a point in your relationship where you are questioning the integrity of your partner, it is absolutely imperative that you learn as much as you possibly can on this topic.

It is important to remember, though, that you need to apply these self-help techniques to your partner based upon how you know them. It can be that they might display some of these signs and yet they are actually being one hundred percent truthful. Therefore, this guide will be effective when applied uniquely to different people according to their individual personality.

Last Minute Valentine’s Gifts for that special someone

March 18, 2009 by Trilochan Bhattacharya

If life has been against you so far this year and you have been unable to get hold of your Valentine’s gifts until now, fear not! There are plenty of ideas for ideal Valentine’s gifts you can find without too much fuss or cost. The main thing is to be sure that whatever you get for your loved one this Valentine’s Day, those gifts are in keeping with your partner’s style and interests.

How about books? Novels by a favourite author, or someone from the same genre if your partner already has the full works of their favourite, are a great idea. They would provide many hours of enjoyment for little outlay.

Non-fiction books, manuals, graphic novels, comic strips and humour books are all perfect gifts for Valentine’s Day, and they can be personalized by just writing inside the front cover and dating it, so that whenever your loved one sees the book on their shelf after enjoying it, they will always be reminded of your special day together.

Films? You could grab a selection of DVDs of favourite films from your time knowing each other, to enjoy as a couple over some wine and nice food. Speaking of food, if you have been unable to arrange a table in your favourite restaurant, it can be very romantic indeed to set up a night in, where you can cook your lover’s favourite dish yourself.

Adding a personal touch to Valentine’s Day goes a long way to showing your partner how much you care.

Chocolates? The traditional Valentine’s Gift is timeless and will never fail to raise a smile at this time of year. Just be sure to take any allergies your partner has into account- you don’t want them swelling up like some kind of mutant balloon on your day of romance.

Flowers are perfect too, but bear in mind the time of year and of you haven’t been able to get the ones you want, you may not be able to until afterwards!

Gift Baskets or bags! How about getting a gift bag, or a nice basket, and filling it with small presents that your loved one will adore? Small packs of sweets, toiletries, books, trinkets, photographs, your Valentine’s Card and other economic items will look lovely collected into a basket for them.

Whatever you get for your significant other as a last minute Valentine’s gift, take a moment to think of the presentation, as that can make a great impact even when a gift is small.

If you’ve been struggling to make any arrangements for a romantic weekend away, how about a weekend right at home, pampering your loved one, cooking for them, tending to them, and making them feel like royalty? For the best effect possible, go halves on it and make each other feel incredible for the weekend. Talk and spend quality time together. Walk, listen and fall in love all over again.

Valentine’s Day is a time for companionship and showing your partner that you love them, so do just that!
